Forplay is a non-commercial artist-run space, residency and community driven experiment founded by artist and community organiser Seljuk Rustum, that has existed since 2016 in Ernakulam, Kochi. This variation in a society form is an autonomous extension for the celebration of the arts and a spontaneous action based union facilitated by artists and curators, Seljuk Rustum (Kochi), Andreas Ullrich (Dresden), and Vivek Chockalingam (Bangalore) – creating a collaboration is grounded in trust, sharing of resources, organisational abilities & common interests within the community. In 2026, Forplay Society extends its network through collaborations with Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan Bangalore as one of its main supporters along with Walkin Studios (Bangalore), C. Rockefeller Center (Dresden), SAVVY Contemporary (Berlin), Articultural Society (Berlin), Æther (Sofia/Haga), Local Sustainable Living (Kochi), NetzwerkMedienKunst (Dresden) and other global partners.
